SASSA is a government department responsible for the payment of grants to qualifying citizens to help have a better standard of living irrespective of the reason for the grant. They are there as a social security for potential beneficiaries of their grants.
Several grants are available for offer by SASSA as long as you qualify for it. Some of which include

SASSA GRANTS PAYMENT DATES SCHEDULES
Old Age and Disability grants will be available from 03 September 2020 and 04 September, all other grants will be paid from 06 September 2020. This includes child grant linked to these grants. All Other grants will be paid from 6th September 2020
SASSA Introduces Flexible Way To Access Your Special COVID-19 Temporary SRD
SASSA has provided for benefiaciaries of its COVID 19 Social Relief of Distress Grants a way to receive through whichever outlet they desire and choose.
This means that the beneficiaries are allowed to:
� Switch between payment between payment methods.
� Choose to receive direct payment into their respective bank account.
� Have their payments moved across banks for them;
� Opt to receive through cash send payment option; and
� For those beneficiaries who want to receive using the cash send option must ensure that the phone numbers they will use are registered in their name only. That is the name used on the application of the grant.
These options were made available from August 3 to August 9 2020 for 24 hours..
In order to change your payment preference after being approved, beneficiaries will have to visit https://srd.sassa.gov.za to make the changes they desire to their payment details.
Requirements: SASSA Special COVID-19 SRD Temporary Grant Beneficiaries
You will need to meet the following requirements for the special COVID-19 SRD temporary grants:
- Original ID card/book or
- Birth certificates, or
- ID copies or
- Affidavits are not permitted.
The Department of Home Affairs is now open for temporary ID applications. A temporary ID is also accepted.
